...variety of songs and emotions offered. There is such soul and depth of feeling to David's voice and musical message...one can feel a lifetime of trials, tribulations, and joys breathe beneath each track...

David's voice is so distinctive, not only his singing voice, but the voice of the narrator in his lyrics... so specific and so profound. I've been a fan of David's for years. I am touched by his understanding of pain. His joy is inspiring - his compassion and introspection are placed in such beautiful poetry, and the tunes are unforgettable.

...First - (David's) voice...What a gift!...so full of life experience, so soulful and sexy and rich with pain and joy and the incredible complexities that are life itself..a direct auditory expression of the human heart - it makes me weep... and the songs touch me so deeply...resonate with understanding and sense of wonder about it all..makes me think about my relationship with the people I love, my connection with God...

...long past the "first listen," now into the groove of the drive, increasingly familiar, intimate, with waves of appreciation that keep rolling in...It's just a wonderful piece of work for so many reasons...first the songs...I am a "Yes, I Do" "Dad Like You" "Don't Mind if I Do" "Hard to Receive," "Song for a Baby," "Wouldn't Change a Thing" kind of guy...best being "Hard to Receive" which is forever inside me as one of those great great songs that go to the truth of living, both in the music and the words... All the instrumentation is so terrific, all the songs so realized and distinct. And David's voice does real justice to the songs, rich resonant soulful. There is so much accumulated wisdom and touch on the CD......And I liked what the songs were about, the humility of their tone, the willingness to keep on with a recognition that life is not necessarily what we want it to be, and it's what we do with it that seems to matter the most. It's a grownup album, with a lot of living in it, and still a lot of the full out passion of being connected to life. I hope the powers that be big and mighty will receive it, appreciate it, and spread the word.

You'll never forget this album of songs by David Morgan. The soul of a man has never been musically revealed with such clarity. He sings his own Truth, and it is a mix of pain and joy few are capable of experiencing, or expressing.

Good, easy listening composing skills combined with an amiable manner produces one 13 track, 50 minute gift of Morgan...Relationships, family, sorrow and personal forgiveness...it's almost like a self-apology, this album, and I'd say that we, the listeners, get the best of it. Take the title song - 'I've shed a lot of tears along the road that led to you/I can't say that I like it, but it's what I had to do/but when you've been through hell and back/ there's one thing that's for sure/little things don't scare you any more.' Think of a non-electric Joe Cocker, sitting in with James Taylor who's letting someone Else sing, and you'll get close to songs like 'Don't Mind If I Do' and especially 'You Don't Have a Heart At All.'...accessible, simple words, but it's the way David sings them.
